Diesel Prices Continue to Rise

By Alden Downing

HELENA - As reported, weaker consumer demand on gasoline has forced a decrease in prices at the pump. But as gas prices go down diesel prices continue to go up, doubling over the past four years. An increase in diesel fuel is felt across the boards, causing price hikes in many more consumer goods.

"Diesel prices did hit an all time high at $4.05," said Denice Harris with AAA MountainWest. "That's a record and that, as we've talked before, is passed out to the consumer through consumer goods, not just if you drive a diesel pickup truck."

While it may not be as expensive to fill up your car, the cost of fueling semi trucks will hit everyone's wallet as milk, eggs and all shipped products become more expensive.
