Branding Billings

By Nick Lough

BILLINGS - The City of Billings is looking for a better way to promote the city by "branding" Billings. City officials say branding Billings is nothing new, but Monday they unveiled a website for the public to help with the cause.

Members of several organizations including the Billings Chamber of Commerce, Yellowstone County Commissioners, and the Mayor of Billings were all on hand for the announcement. The website, www.brandbillings.com, lets web surfers answer a series of five questions on their opinion of Billings. City officials hope the website will give them ideas to brand the city with what the public wants.

"We think by capturing that type of information people will help us define what our key attributes are and then from those key attributes take that, roll it into a brand and then be able to market the city more efficiently," said Rimrock Mall's Kendall Merrick.
