Bushman for Senate

By Madelyn Jarrett

BILLINGS - Wednesday morning, Montana Republican Kirk Bushman threw his hat in the ring for U.S. Senate. Now Democratic Senator Max Baucus, who has represented Montana in the senate for about 30 years, has two Republicans vying for his seat this November.

Bushman is a Billings native and resident who has worked all over the world as an engineer and is currently with an engineering consulting firm in town. He's new to politics, and says his main issues are social security reform and government spending. Bushman says it's real world experience that he brings to the table.

A representative for Senator Baucus says he has not yet announced his plans to run for re-election because he's busy working, but they expect he will seek another term. Bushman is also running against another Billings Republican Michael Lange.
