BILLINGS - If you're one of the thousands of people reminding kids to stop smoking give yourself a pat on the back.
According to a national report Montana ranks 6th in protecting kids from tobacco. The Coalition of Public Health Organizations conducted the national report. According to the report Montana currently spends $8.5 million dollars a year on tobacco prevention programs. Although it is lower than the national amount of $9.4 million dollars recommended by the Center for Disease Control officials still say Montana is doing well.
The report also found tobacco companies spend more than $41 million dollars a year in marketing in Montana. Last year Montana ranked 12th.
