Some upcoming Color and Cost Effective Décor Trends for 2012 to consider:
- Lighter blues and navy can coax a feeling of tranquility and relaxation. Try adding large yellow sunflowers with blue denim linens to pull off an artful event that could range from fun and funky to upscale. Or, use indigo-navy to evoke a depth-enveloping and protective, yet mysterious feeling paired with maroon, pink tones or gray (silver).
- Eggplant remains strong especially when mixed with white or ivory.
- Olive green is becoming stronger as it is casual, comfortable, and approachable. It's used to appear nurturing, kind, laid back and friendly or as though you are communing with nature.
- Popular color choices to mix and play with include mid-toned berry colors, softer and less sporty shades of yellow like butter rum, bamboo or citrus, orangey-reds, and purple hues including lavender.
- Honeysuckle mixes well with shades of green making a wedding more casual. If paired with champagne, chocolate brown and silver or gold and ivory it comes across as more elegant.
- Transcend time with a palette that contains hues that heirlooms are made of like frosted almond or pearl, warm beige, wood tones, wine/maroon, purples, and rose.
- Go non-traditional incorporating *sepia-toned items like Party Time's wooden Chavari chairs with ivory china, sepia prints in metal frames and either rich brown or creamy hues of camel/cappuccino colored linens to create a distinct antique look. *Sepia is a dark brown pigment used in inks and watercolors for photographs and drawings.
- "Feather Banner Flags", approximately 15'x 2' will draw attention, mark an entrance wave at the happy couple following their wedding ceremony or just add a pop of color. Party Time offers them in green, orange, purple, red, royal blue, white and yellow.
- Incorporate ribbon to add country charm, an artistic flair, a vintage feel or to help create the exact vibe you are looking for when decorating. Tie or weave ribbon on an arch, stage, tabletops, the top or backs of chairs, chandeliers, skirting, as well as in headpieces, floral bouquets or card boxes and baskets. Try tying ribbon around centerpiece vases or napkins. Ribbon has a multitude of uses, is easy to work with, can be adhesive backed and comes in satin, velvet, grosgrain, and taffeta to create a colorful backdrop or decor.
