BILLINGS - The suspect in the double homicide case made his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon, and more details are being released in the investigation that left two sisters dead.

Twenty-year-old Andrew Denning faces two counts of deliberate homicide in the deaths of 22-year-old Rose Edwards and her 21-year-old sister Daisy.

Court documents say Denning was delivering Ambien to the women at the Ponderosa Acres Apartment complex, but killed them when they didn't pay him for the drug. The documents say Denning was released from a psychiatric center two days before the murders.

Court records add that Denning admitted to being in the apartment complex early January 27, 2012. The Edward sisters were found dead more than 48 hours later on Sunday morning after officers responded to a welfare check at the Ponderosa Acres Apartment Complex. When officers arrived, they discovered two bodies in the living room.

The probable cause affidavit says detectives learned from Denning’s girlfriend that he admitted to killing the sisters. In the document, it says when authorities confronted Denning, he told officers to book him.

Prosecutors say Denning killed both women by stabbing them several times. Denning is in custody and was formally charged at Wednesday's initial appearance. His bail is set at $1 million. His arraignment is tentatively set for February 10th.

Friends have established a fund in the family’s name. Anyone who would like to donate to the Edwards Family fund can do so at any U.S. Bank branch.

Monte, anime has nothing to do with what has happened. I knew Drew personally for the past 3 years. I have never known him to be violent. He went out of his way to safely take me and my friend to a safe home in mississippi. I, for one, think he is innocent until PROVEN guilty. Do not bad mouth people you do not truly know. What gives you the idea that anime or World of Warcraft is to blame? Try thinking of a REAL reason for this tragedy instead of blaming a STUPID CARTOON!

Wow Billings what are we coming to? Brutally killing two beautiful women over a sleeping medicine. Better come up with a better excuse than that mr denning if you ever hope to see the light of day again. N I will positivily ill if he gets off on an insanity plea. Please let justice prevail for once!!

Honestly, reading all of these comments leads me to believe that no one here is half way as intelligant as i give them credit for. First off. Drew just came from a "psychiatric center" meaning he was taking some kind of drugs at the time and they messed him up. If drew was on Drugs because of the ones he had gotten from that place it would be a reason for why he did this. He was already probably a troubled human coming OUT of the psychiatric center; he came out worse than when he went in. And also know one has to Push god on anyone. YEs god is there to help every one.. But guess what A REal and truly loving GOD would not Take Freedom away. He can only watch the path hios children have chosen to take. They have to redeem themselves before him for him to take them back. and lastly.. I didn't knwo "murder" justified More muder....

The lack of intelligence in the people who regularly post on these sites is absolutley astounding. There has been nothing truly informative released yet, all you people have are names. How do you feel that is basis for an educated opinion?

Hogwash, a true and loving god would not have allowed this. I say, reason and common sense to you all, let it prevail always. I would say there was little of either involved in this tragedy.

I agree with you bh. I meant there is a lot to this story we dont know. My main point is to get God out to all involved.

Innocent until proven guilty, I agree unless the accused admits to the crime. In my opinion at that point the burden of proof has been satisfied and guilt determined.

Innocent until proven guilty. No one knows all the details of this tragedy. Theres more to it than we know. May God be With All who are affected by this. Peace of the Lord

I think people are confused on what a welfare check is. It is when someone is worried about you they can call the police department and they go to the address and check to see everything is okay. That is a welfare check.

Skeptical: No conflict. The one didn't show up for work, so someone at the office called the police and asked them to do a "welfare check". It has nothing to do with public assistance payments, but simply verifying the welfare of the person checked on.

hasnt some of the articles state the police came after one of the girls didnt report to work and now this one says due to a welfare check. I think everyone needs to be on the same page. These girls were found dead and it is so sad. My heart goes out to their family. May God be with you all.
