UPDATE:
A federal jury finds Billings oral surgeon Jerry Mancuso guilty of using and distributing cocaine. Mancuso was also found guilty of maintaining his home and business addresses to distribute and use cocaine.

The jury found Mancuso not guilty on the 5th count of using a telephone in relation to the drug charges. Mancuso pleaded not guilty to the charges. We'll have more on this breaking story Friday night at 5:00.


BILLINGS - Did a Billings oral surgeon use and distribute cocaine? That's what a federal jury is now deciding. The jury recessed for the evening and will start deliberations again at 8:30 Friday morning.

In closing arguments Thursday, the prosecution painted Dr. Jerry Mancuso as a man leading a double life using and allowing others to use cocaine in his home and business. Defense attorneys admit Mancuso used cocaine, but said he did not distribute it.

Mancuso has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The jury began deliberations early Thursday afternoon. If convicted, Mancuso faces a minimum of five years in prison and could be sentenced to 40 years and a $2 million fine.

Is there an update on this? Sentencing? Seems like the potential penalty was very steep considering the actual offense...
