Friends of Sherry Arnold are still trying to deal with the tragedy. Reporter Jessica Roose sat down with a friend and former student of Sherry's, two of many lives she touched.

Michelle Hagel met Sherry Arnold on this campus, in 1992. Michelle Hagel remembers, "It was my sophomore year and she started as my trig teacher, and my mom worked at Ryan as well and those two hit it off and became really good friends. So Sherry was at our house quite often, over for dinner and hanging out."

Hagel said when her mother and Arnold got together the women couldn't stop laughing. Michelle Hagel said, "It got to the point that her and my mom would laugh constantly, and you quit asking what was so funny because it was just mom and Shar. They would laugh and then you would have to laugh too."

Sadly the laughter ended when Arnold disappeared while on her morning run. Hagel said while she is glad to have the men behind bars, it was also a sad moment. Michelle Hagel said, "I knew that, that it was a matter of time. What was worse for me was that, that was the moment that I knew she probably wasn't coming home."

Hagel says her family plans on making a trip to Sidney to spend time with Arnold's husband and children.
