BILLINGS - The bear attacks have prompted several campground closures in the Cooke City area.

The Soda Butte, Chief Joseph, and Colter Campgrounds are all closed. Camping restrictions have also been put in place in the Shoshone National Forest. Only hard-sided RVs are allowed to stay overnight in the Crazy Creek Campground area. Tents and pop-up campers are not allowed at this time.

Yellowstone National Park has also increased bear education following the attack, and a park ranger will be stationed at every overnight campground.
