Governor Reaction to APF

BILLINGS - Governor Brian Schweitzer weighed in on the ongoing attorney generals investigation into American Police Force calling the group a bunch of card sharks.

Schweitzer said his office is receiving around 40 phone calls a day from people concerned about APF. He visited the Two Rivers Detention Facility in April of last year and says he's contacted other governors about the possibility of sending their inmates to Hardin. The governor said he believes Hardin residents are being scammed.

"I believe the people of Hardin were duped by these construction people out of Texas to build the facility, then the bond people to build this they were duped, now we have these card sharks out of California who are there to dupe them," said Schweitzer.

The governor said he's very concerned the bonds are in default and the facility is still sitting vacant but wouldn't comment on other action he can take to help.

Schweitzer's right. The guys from Dallas who sold this jail to Hardin were ripoff artists. They're the ones who should be bailing the town out, with their ill gotten gains.

In 10/09/2009 Gazette, it is reported that, IN FACT, there is a written agreement between Two River and American Police Force for APF to provide a Police Force in Hardin. The Gazette had to sue Two Rivers to get it! So, while we all thought the Two Rivers Board, the Hardin Mayor and City Council were just inept…it NOW turns out they were being purposely deceptive and lying to the citizens, the Press, the MT Atty General…that is why they refused to turn over the last 2 pages of the contract.
