BILLINGS - After eight days and nine nights, MontanaFair has come to a close.

Saturday was the last day of the fair. Sunday, crews packed up the Mighty Thomas Carnival and headed to a fair in Miles City. This is the 30th year the carnival has been a part of MontanaFair. Officials said this was their second best year.

Official attendance numbers will be released next week.

I can't believe they did so poorly in the kids world section last year they had a free inflatable bouncy house but it was now part of rides area so it cost 4 tickets. A bouncy house should be in the free kid world section. Celebrate Freedom there were tons of bouncy houses for kids to use for free and you buy bbq and stuff from vendors. That's a great thing!

What a disappointment the fair was. Skimpy food choices with lack of places to sit and eat, expensive kiddie rides, not enough grown-up rides, repetitive carnival games, too little arts & crafts displays, cheesy air-brush tattoo tents, and overpriced knick-knack vendors made the whole experience tedious. I will not be going back next year unless there is a change.

What a sorry excuse for a fair. Higher prices and crapy rides. I hope they find someone else besides Thomas Carnavil for next year. After 30 years of Thomas I think it's time for a change. Would be nice to see more teen rides, not less! Come on Billings' we deserve better than this...
