Kids at the Fair

BILLINGS - Many things about the fair are for adults, but there is one section that's all about the kids. At the southeast section of MetraPark kids can ride an assortment of age-appropriate rides and visit an exotic petting zoo.

"We have a baby camel, a zebra, a kangaroo," said Marcie Campbell with Hedrick Exotic Animal Farm. "You can touch every singly thing in the zoo." Two-and-a-half-year-old Ashlyn Johnson was doing just that.

"I wanna feed him," she said to her mother, approaching a goat. "He's so cute."

If live animals aren't your thing, you can try your hand at the plastic variety. "We have them pick up a duck," said Ben Austin, who's manning the kiddies duck station. "Everyone's a winner. I like seeing the kids. Everyone walks away happy."

The fair carnival is open from noon until midnight all week.
