COLUMBUS - Stillwater Mine spokesman John Beaudry says an appeal of the Wednesday decision to let General Motors break their contract is not likely, but there are other options for the company.

General Motors represented 11% of the mine's business, but even without that revenue, Beaudry says the company has options. "There's a possibility of getting back into discussions with GM, that is an option. There's the possibility of working on agreements with other companies. We clearly are enjoying a contract with Ford, it's long term goes back to 1998," says Beaudry.

Stillwater Mine is one of the state's largest employers. Beaudry says this decision will not only affect mine employees, but the town, county and entire state.
