COOKE CITY - Montana wildlife officials say they have captured the fourth and final grizzly bear believed involved in the fatal mauling of a Michigan man at a campground near Yellowstone National Park.

A sow and two of her three cubs had been trapped by Thursday while the final year-old cub was found in a culvert trap early Friday.

Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials say the bears will likely be moved to the state wildlife lab in Bozeman while officials decide what to do with the animals. Results of DNA tests to determine if the bears were responsible for the attacks that injured two and killed Kevin Kammer of Grand Rapids, Mich., are expected Friday.

Fish, Wildlife and Parks Warden Capt. Sam Sheppard says evidence indicates all three cubs were present for and likely participated in what he called a sustained attack on Kammer.

I agree. Move the bears or come up with some other solutions. If bears are sited or you see tracks get out of there. They are wild animals and they can be unpredictable. As I said in a previous post. One or more precautions were overlooked. You were in their territory and they shouldn't be killed b/c they acted like a bear is suppossed to.

Hi, Having just left the park, actually in the Lamar Valley, Soda Butte area earlier that very day, we saw Bear every where we went. Campers should of had pepper spray. SAVE the BEAR send her and her cubs to a protected park or area. WHY SHOULD THEY DIE. Has to be some other solution. WE go into there area & expect them to behave... come on. WE saw plently of STUPID people when watching bears or buffalo even after the the lady was run over by one.
