BILLINGS - The loss of Garrett has impacted so many people, especially his good friend Jeff Weis.

The 16-year-old said to honor Garrett he has completely changed his life. He said he was heading down a bad path: alcohol, drugs, fighting, and skipping school. He said when Garrett was lost in the river, he decided life was too short to be wasting it.

"Garrett always wanted me to be a better person than I was, he knew I was better than that and what I was doing, and I knew he wouldn't want me going down a bad road," said Jeff. "So, I decided to honor his name by doing good, going to school and staying out of trouble."

Jeff has also hung a poster on Bundy Bridge near where Garrett went missing warning of the dangers. He is also working on a billboard for the Billings area in honor of his friend and to keep search efforts going for him.
