WORDEN - School officials held a press conference late Thursday evening releasing their plan for how they'll conduct classes in the coming days.

Administrators looked at several options but say classes should resume in modular buildings in Worden as early as next week Wednesday. As students gather outside what used to be the Huntley Project High School, faculty have already started planning for the future. "They're in total disbelief, they're wondering when they're going to go to class, where their games are going to be held," said Huntley Project Superintendent Dave Mahon, "All the simple things you take for granted when you send your kids to school, we have to start all over."

Administrators looked over options including sending 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to Lockwood Middle school, high school students to Skyview High School or West High School, or even moving all the students to the vacant Hardin jail, but now say they'll have seven modular building on campus next week ready for students.

As for construction on a new building, school officials say they're not sure when they'll rebuild the school but they say they'll rise from the ashes and move past this tragedy. "I was born and raised out here and this community always comes forward and when people were down and out someone in this community has always stepped up," said Huntley Project School Board Member Steve Erb.

Administrators say they'll take some time to think about all the memories lost in the school and remain in a state of shock and disbelief over what happened to their rural school. "I'm tearing up here looking at the high school. It's just a horrible thing. I just feel so sad for these kids," said Mahon. "When I decided to run for the school board and fortunate to get elected to the school board I had no idea we'd ever have to cross the bridge, not at all," said Erb.

A community meeting is scheduled Friday evening at the Huntley Project Elementary cafeteria at five pm to discuss the situation.
