Veterans React to Obama Speech

BILLINGS - In front of a crowd made up of 200 veterans and their family members, Senator Barack Obama made his third stop in the Magic City.

The senator focused much of his discussion on veteran's issues and took several questions from the crowd. Many in attendance left the event thinking the presidential hopeful hit a home run. "He didn't just say what people wanted to hear. He said this is what I would do if I'm elected and he kind of presented a mini plan so I was satisfied at what he did say as far as the issues that were addressed Wednesday," said Veteran Chelly Harada.

"I was amazed at the command that Barack Obama has on the total subject and the solutions that he is offering are very positive and very doable," said Veteran Vern Klingman.

"He's so knowledgeable about all the things that are going on in the VA and he's got the solutions," Veteran Ben Steele.

Even one youngest attendees felt a little star strike after meeting the senator from Illinois. "Yeah I was blown away meeting him live. I thought that was really nice, being able to shake his hand and actually meet this excellent guy," said Dakota Robinson.

While the presidential hopeful didn't sway to far from veterans issues he did focus on a change in thinking about alternative energy and education, something at least one Obama supporter says was music to his ears. "I thought he talked about some different ideas some direction. I think as the country moves towards the future that have to be brought to the fore front," said Obama supporter Jack Dobbins. Ideas Senator Obama hopes will help him win the November election.
