BILLINGS - Fire crews are planning to use fireline explosives Wednesday on the southern flank of a fire burning about 30 miles southwest of Stanford.

The Russian Flats fire has burned 619 acres of heavy timber in the Lewis and Clark National Forest. It's 35 percent contained Tuesday night. Fire officials expect to have it under control by next week.
