Ostrich Fire

By Nick Lough

BILLINGS - The Ostrich Fire burning south of Lockwood is now in the mop up stage as crews have it contained.

The fire was burning just north of Pryor Creek Road. The blaze burned 34 acres but because of the difficult terrain, crews called in air support. Officials believe the fire started when workers were doing maintenance to an electrical line.

Crews from Lockwood, DNRC, Bluecreek, BLM and BIA all responded to the scene.
