Cascade Fire

By KULR Staff & The Associated Press

RED LODGE - Containment was up to 75% Wednesday on the Cascade Fire still smoldering near Red Lodge.

The blaze is mapped at over 10,000 acres. They've reduced crews significantly; now down to 439 people working on the fire. They hope to let more go on Thursday.

Most evacuations have been lifted, and the Grizzly Peak subdivision is no longer on alert. However the Senia area beyond Basin Creek campground is still closed because of falling timber and other safety concerns.

They expect to go from a Type 1 fire to a Type 3 fire Thursday, releasing more crews and resources.
