Ski Tips: Drills

By Nick Lough

BILLINGS - These tips are for the beginner, intermediate or even advanced skiers and we have a look back at all the laughs from the season.

“The first thing we can do is we're going to leave the poles behind go ahead and cross your arms over your shoulders, grab you shoulders, and you're just going to make your normal turns this way. This is going to help you keep your body in the right place lets do it," said Red Lodge Mountain's Eliza Kuntz.

So when you're skiing with you hands crossed like that then your upper body is really quiet and it allows your feet to go back and forth around your body to make a nice round turn.

Kuntz continued, "Lets go a little bit further and put your poles up on your shoulders, wrap your arms over your poles, look where you want to go, and focus on your next turn.”

"Your ski's just come around. You're forced to look where you're going and stand up tall," said Kuntz.

We want to send out a big thank you to Eliza and the rest of the staff at Red Lodge Mountain for all of their assistance and help in making this ski season a great one.
