BOZEMAN - Kulr-8 told you about the 1983 state basketball champion Park High Rangers. After winning a second championship in 1985, head coach Tom Ferch stepped down after only four seasons and the reason was fairly simple.

Following the 83-season, Kral Ferch was recruited and signed by Montana State. He was joined by his younger brother, Shan, in Bozeman two years later and for the first time, Tom Ferch was able to watch his sons play at the collegiate level.

Kral was fast earning a reputation as one of games better dunkers, something he had cultivated from his playing days at Livingston. When Shan arrived in Bozeman, the two were reunited for two seasons. It produced one appearance in the NCAA Tournament and another in the NIT. And like his older brother, Shan could also assault the rim.

Together the two produced a high flying aerial circus that routinely packed the Worthington Arena. So where are they now?

Tom and his wife Sandy continue to enjoy life in Bozeman. Kral Ferch works for Microsoft as a Computer Science Engineer, living in Redmond, Washington. Shan holds a Ph.D. and is a professor at Gonzaga University.
