No Line at H1N1 Clinic

BILLINGS - Long lines and a limited supply of the H1N1 vaccine limit people across the country from getting the shot, but that wasn't the case at the local vaccine clinic Monday.

The set up for Monday's H1N1 vaccine clinic was organized more like an amusement park ride, with long rope stretching around the building for what was expected to be a large. However, by 2 p.m., only a small crowd made the trip to sign up for the vaccination which meant the lines were shorter than expected.

"A lot of the worry is gone. I don't feel bad mingling in crowds now," said Mike Hamilton who had just received his shot. Throughout the afternoon the relief continued as fears still loom over a vaccine shortage and the large crowds never turned up.

Officials say the H1N1 concern has put other vaccines on the public's radar, something doctors say they haven't seen in a long time. "We do recommend a pneumonia vaccine routinely it's called the pneumovax," said Billings Clinic Dr. Catherine Stephens.

Officials warn each vaccine is different so the pneumonia vaccine or seasonal flu vaccine won't fight off H1N1.
