Frequently Asked Questions

I’m finding my computer to be blurry and I’m experiencing some eyestrain. Any suggestions?
Eyestrain on the computer is likely a symptom of Computer Vision Syndrome. As you read or work on the computer, you typically are blinking 3 times less than when you are up walking around. For patients between the ages of 48 and 55, the eyestrain can be relieved with a prescription designed for intermediate images. For a distance no-line to focus at arm’s length, you have to tip your head back to focus. With the Office no-line, the computer distance is in perfect focus without having to tip your head back. The bottom half of the lens has the power to read with. The corridor is considerably wider and more functional to work with.
How old do you have to be to wear contact lenses?
With the advancements made in the disposable soft contact lenses, we’re successfully fitting kids as young as 8. The daily disposable lenses require no maintenance or cleaning – you wear them once and throw them away. Because they have a smaller diameter, they are easier to insert into the eye. Our contact lens technicians will teach the techniques needed to insert and remove the contacts.
I find my contacts to be dry at the end of the day. Any suggestions?
Lubricating drops can give some improvement. Your disinfecting solution can sometimes create dryness. Most patients find that the new silicone hydrogel soft lenses retain more moisture and deliver more oxygen to the cornea. These lenses are available in 2-week and monthly replacement schedules.
