BILLINGS - It's the beginning of a new way of life and hopefully a new lease on life for a boy from Uganda.

One local organization brought the 14-year-old to Billings for much-needed medical care.

Roger Ssembatya arrived in Billings Wednesday night. He suffers from TB of the spine, making him unable to walk.

Terry Fettig of Billings and the group, AIDSpirit USA are sponsoring the effort.

St. Vincent's and several local doctors are donating their services to help with treatment. Fettig said this has changed his own life, but it's not about him.

“It's more important what it means to roger. We’re hoping the doctors can do something to help him be more comfortable, if not fix him completely,” said Fettig.

Fettig said Roger's stay in Billings could last several years, but that will depend upon his treatment and recovery.

His first doctor's appointment is scheduled for Monday.
