BILLINGS - About 11,000 toys have been donated across Billings to Toys for Tots, but collections are even done yet.
The U.S. Marines are asking that you please have your Toys for Tots donations dropped off by Thursday.
That is when they would like to have all of them picked up and delivered to Family Services and St. Vincent De Paul.
Those are the agencies that will distribute the presents to area families.
Corporal Matt Armstrong said they have toy donations for all age groups from newborns to teens.
"They're helping all the families right here within the community," said Armstrong. "There's a lot of misconception that these toys get shipped out to different places and I tell them that they're probably going to your neighbor. The toys that we get here stay here; we wouldn't ask people to donate to their community and then ship them elsewhere."
There were more than 100 donation boxes across the city.
Marines were out collecting them Thursday.
However donation sites at all of the Wal-Mart locations across Billings will be left until Friday night.
You are asked to take your unwrapped toys there.
Donations can be made though up until Christmas at the reserve center on Gable Road.
