BILLINGS - Thursday was the United Way's annual day of caring, a day when volunteers from local area businesses donate their time to help out around the community.

The Bowling Bash has been a part of the day of caring for about five years. "I'm just always wishing I could be the one with a 300 game," said senior bowler Helen Cramston.

Twenty-five residents from St. John's Ministries paired up with 25 volunteers from Wells Fargo and Payne Financial Group. Ninety-nine-year-old Helen Cramston said she looks forward to the event every year. "I used to bowl, but of course at my age, I'm not a good bowler anymore'."

Volunteer Kyle Miller said bowling is a nice change for some of the seniors. "I'm just looking forward to having a good time, getting these guys out and letting them have a good time doing things they normally wouldn't do," he said.

"I've always been a person who liked to get out and do things," said Cramston. Seniors were treated to lunch, two games of bowling, and an ice-cream social. "It's wonderful what they do for us," said Cramston.

This is the 17th year for The Day of Caring in Billings. Organizers said it's a great way for people get involved with their community.
