Dj Reaches Kids

By Stephanie Domurat

BILLINGS - Some Billings kids got a lesson in music Thursday, but it wasn't the usual course of study. In this weeks Spirit Of Montana, some local DJ's show kids the art of mixing music.

Third through seventh graders with the Billings Friendship House found out what it takes to be a DJ. A few dozen kids participated in the event through hands-on mixing and study books. DJ Danny Tellez and two others volunteered their time to teach kids about music and the different ways people enjoy it.

"They were nervous, and then we got them all involved let them touch things and explain how things worked it was great. Now they're kind of shuffling in pushing each other aside, it's great to see. They're having fun and so are we," says Danny Tellez.

He says he hopes to inspire kids to get involved with music, and possibly even a future career. You can find more information on him by looking at the connections tab of our website.
