Obama Hug
BILLINGS - A 2005 Skyview High School graduate shares some images of a moment she will never forget.
Michelle Holliday, 22, got to hug President Barack Obama at her college graduation ceremony.
Obama was the commencement speaker last May at Arizona State University.
Holliday is humble about her educational accolades, but her outstanding grades and impressive college career landed her the chance to share the stage with the president and more than just a handshake.
"I was a Mouer Award winner so, originally they said we were just going to run by him, we'd be in a little line and we had to go real quick, but we did actually get to shake hands and someone else started the hugging trend and I wasn't sure I'd be brave enough but I asked him, "May I hug you?" and he said, "Yeah," so I got to hug the president," said Holliday. "It was really cool."
Holliday majored in english creative writing.
She is currently writing a book and hopes to teach English to Japanese students abroad.
