Students Against Cancer

By Stephanie Domurat

BILLINGS - In the Spirit of Montana, McKinley Elementary students took time from their last full day of school, to visit Billings Clinic.

Four students from McKinley school helped design and sell T-shirt's to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. The students presented a check for $1,500 to the Billings Clinic, to benefit under and uninsured women, through their Women's Wellness Program. The idea came to staff and students after two of their own were diagnosed with cancer this year.

"I thought it would be cool to design the shirts, but also to get involved and help give the money to women who are uninsured. You don't realize how many people it affects until it hits you," says McKinley Elementary 6th Grader Hannah Loes.

Mckinley School officials say they do plan to continue making and selling T-shirts. But they need corporate sponsors to help. For more information you can contact McKinley Elementary school at 255-3853.
