BILLINGS - More than 200 volunteers in Billings spent Thursday morning preparing meals and serving others.
The Montana Rescue Mission prepared more than 60 turkeys, pounds of sweet potatoes and stuffing, and boxes full of rolls and pies for the less fortunate. MRM volunteers are also serving around 300 dinners for meals on wheels. Officials say serving a large amount of people is nothing new to the mission. "This is something we do 365 days out of the year and we're putting together 690 meals a day between the men's rescue mission, the women's and family shelter, and our mobile outreach van," said MRM's Patti Yonts.
To prepare for the large number of people served Thursday, volunteers started cooking the turkeys earlier this week at the college of technology.
