Women's Museum Hold First Fundraiser

By Madelyn Jarrett

BILLINGS - The High Plains Women's Museum in downtown Billings held its very first fundraiser Thursday evening.

Organizers with the museum say theirs is the first of its kind in the country. Not only does it celebrate the contributions women on the plains made, but it specifically looks at what each race has done.

Eileen Morris is the Executive Director of the museum, she says they opened the museum because the contributions of women on the high plains and here in montana are grossly over looked. They hope to remedy that with their exhibits and fundraisers like the one Thursday night.

At the fundraiser they provided guided tours, plus "A Taste of the Plains" in the food court downstairs. Morris says they'll be holding an open house in October for those who are interested.
