BILLINGS - After increasing concerns over the H1N1 virus, medical professionals have seen increased interest in flu vaccinations this year. Some natural food stores are also seeing an increased interest in immunity boosting supplements.

The most common question Harvest Natural Food Store is getting is simply 'how can people keep from getting sick.' From elderberry to oregano oil, natural food stores offer a wide range of immunity boosting options.

Annually, flu season brings an increase in supplement sales, but natural food store staff said this year is different.

"There's always an increase in supplement buying especially for immunity products during the flu season," said Twila Saylor who's in charge of supplement purchasing at Harvest. "So we've seen the normal increase and then a little bit more as people are a little bit concerned about H1N1 and some of the other flus that are out there."

Saylor said supplements can help ward off disease, but warns they're no substitute for vaccines and general good health. She suggests talking to your doctor before starting any regimen.
