BILLINGS - Get your walking shoes on as the third annual Livestrong Day is this Friday.

The Walk for Hope and Healing is for cancer survivors or anyone touched by cancer from the moment of diagnosis on. This year it will be held at Dehler Park in Billings. Participants are asked to enter from the north entrance.

The event starts Friday night at 5:30 p.m. and lasts until 7 p.m. There will also be live music, and you are asked to wear yellow; the official color of the event.

The walk is being held a few months later than in years past due to a change in national scheduling. Jayne Lakey will speak at the event.
She lost her husband to lung cancer and she herself is a kidney cancer survivor.

She said it feels like you are walking with extended family, "We all have a bond, something in common, and we cheer for each other."

Livestrong Day is the Lance Armstrong foundation's one-day initiative to unite people affected by cancer in raising awareness of cancer issues in communities.

The event is hosted by Billings Clinic.

I am an activist for kc. I have the only support group in Michigan. Today starts breast cancer awareness month. I would like Jayne to contact ACKC(Action to Cure Kidney Cancer) and give them support to raise monies for kc research. KCA of Evanston,Ill. does it too. Any question please contact FrankFriedman8311@yahoo.com Our prayers are with you Jayne and good luck on friday.
