Dry Eyes

BILLINGS - Almost everybody experiences dry eyes. For most people, the problem disappears after a few good blinks, but for others, dry eyes are a painful, daily problem.

There are many causes for dry eyes, the most common being age. As eyes grow old, tear production tends to diminish, leaving eyes dry and irritated.

But local optometrist Brain Linde says age isn't the only cause.

"We live in a climate that has relatively low humidity so there's not a lot of moisture in the air so when the air gets dryer, eyes tend to get dryer," said Linde.

Dr. Linde says eye drops, gels and omega-3 fatty acids are some of the best remedies for dry eyes.
