Puppies Provide Therapy For The Elderly

Tools

By Jared Bray

BILLINGS - Aspen View Retirement Community is teaching new dogs old tricks. Puppies are now being used at the retirement community to provide therapy to the elderly.

Patients are free to play, feed and bond with the pups, but they said that just watching the dogs brightens their day. Animal assisted therapy can be used to improve the physical, emotional and social functioning of patients.

Aside from puppies, Aspen View also uses birds and rabbits with their patients.
