Keep the Drive

By Katie Ussin

BILLINGS - Two Montana teens are driven to keep their peers safe on the roads.
It is a national program called Keep the Drive and it is sponsored by the All State Foundation.
Bridger High School seniors Bailee Vaughn and Heidi Mudd are one of 20 teams from across the nation chosen to talk to teens about safe driving.
They just returned from training in Chicago last month and they said they are excited to take their message to schools across the state.
"We have about 18 kids in our graduating class and learning that 14 kids die a day from preventable car accidents hit home with me because I realized that could be my class," said Vaughn.
"Kids totally respond and are like, 'Yeah, it's cool to be smart on the road,' so I think that's one of the coolest things is finding out it's a cool thing and kids think it's cool and that's a really great way to push it," said Mudd.
Wednesday they were spreading the word at the Bridger chapter of Jobs for Montana Graduates Career Fair in Billings. They said one of their goals is to make teen drivers think twice before texting, eating or changing the radio while driving.
