Allergy Meds

By Katie Ussin

BILLINGS - Allergy season just got a little more affordable, as two medications are now available over-the-counter, and in generic form.
Zyrtec and Zaditor are available without a doctor's prescription, but are still prescription strength.
Zyrtec is a histamine-blocker and Zaditor is an anti-inflammatory eye drop.
Doctor Kathleen Davis said this is good news for seasonal allergy sufferers.
"They don't have a lot of drug interactions, so they're pretty safe medications and you can use them down to small, young ages," said Dr. Davis, Billings Clinic Allergist.
Dr. Davis also reccommended NeilMed Sinus Rinse for people suffering from allergies. She said it provides quick relief after encountering an allergic trigger.
