Illegal Gambling

By Nichole Szemerei

BILLINGS - This week we look at illegal gambling in Billings and what law enforcement is doing to prevent it. The focus of this series is mainly illegal private poker games.

We spoke with a man whose identity will be undisclosed because of his participation in these games. He says late games first became popular 20 years ago and it's because of the large sum of money involved that they still go on and will always be.

"There's a tremendous amount of money in them, they're very lucrative. A lot of pots warrant more money than the state allows."

Stay tuned to Today in Montana on KULR-8 Tuesday and Wednesday for a complete look at what it's like to play in these games and why choosing to play can lead to serious consequences.
