BILLINGS - Preparations are well underway at MetraPark for Friday’s opening of Montana Fair.

Despite a rough economy, organizers say pre-sales are just where they should be. Officials say they have lowered their value-pass tickets to all time lows, to include more activities for less money. This year's fair will have some new additions, including new carnival rides, 4-H categories and interactive activities for kids. Organizers say Montana Fair is the biggest in the state.

"We involve and give credentials to about 9,000 people each year to get the fair started and working. Imagine, it's like a small city coming out of the ground for 8-to-10 days to serve a quarter of a million of your closest friends," says Sandra Hawke, Marketing Director at MetraPark.

Sandra Hawke says to get the best value you should buy your tickets before opening day on Friday. Admission prices at the gate are $8.00 dollars for adults and $5.00 dollars for kids.
