MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICE – Montana State University Billings will host the 10th annual Career Fitness Fair on Thursday, February 15, from noon to 3:00 p.m., in the Student Union Building on the MSUB campus. Co-hosted by Rocky Mountain College, FedEx Kinko’s, KPMG, Sodexho, and Cherry Creek Radio, this event is free and open to college students and the public.
More than 65 employers, such as these Career Fitness partners, will provide insight into successful career strategies, discuss their needs for interns and employees, and reveal hidden career opportunities: Beall Trailers of Montana; Deaconess Billings Clinic; BNSF Railway; CareerBuilder Montana; Eide Bailly, LLP; Energy Labs; Joseph Eve; Kmart; MetLife; Montana Dept. of Administration; Planned Parenthood of Mont.; PPL Montana; RightNow Technologies; Roscoe Steel & Culvert; Start West Satellite; US Customs & Border Protection; Waddell & Reed; Wells Fargo Banker Connection; Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch; Zoot Enterprises, and others.
These employers are looking to hire interns and to fill full-time positions, so job-seekers should bring copies of their résumés and register at the door.
According to Patricia Reuss, director of Career Services and Cooperative Education at MSU Billings, the Career Fitness Fair and workshops bring together students, graduates and the community to share expert information on careers. “It’s a perfect opportunity for candidates to develop job strategies, network with professionals, and hone their interviewing skills.”
Career Services staff will provide information about job vacancies and internships, and will provide free résumé critiques at the event. Participants will be able to get career advice from local experts, find internships, and learn about professional jobs for college graduates.
In addition to the Career Fitness Fair, participants also may attend free career workshops, from noon to 3:00 p.m., in the Bridger Room of the MSUB Student Union Building:
Noon: “Be an Interview Superstar: TomKat rehearses, and you should too!”
1:00 p.m.:“It Really is Who You Know: Networking ROI”
1:45 p.m.: “Landing Your Dream Job: Develop your four-year career plan”
2:30 p.m.:“Avoiding Workplace Landmines: What employers expect you to know”
Parking is free on the day of the event in the lots just south of Rimrock Road.
