Katie Ussin joined the KULR-8 news team in October 2006 as a general assignment reporter. She produced and anchored the First News at 5 for nearly three years. She now co-anchors the KULR-8 News at 6 and 10 with Greg LaMotte, as well as the 9@9.

Katie was born and raised in Billings and is honored to be able to report in her hometown. She is an award-winning journalist. She has received top honors for her live reporting and television news writing from the Montana Associated Press. The Society of Professional Journalists Pacific Northwest awarded her first place for a report on how the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, are taught in the classroom, and recognized her feature reporting and photojournalism. Katie was also a finalist for the prestigious Montana Broadcasters EB Craney Awards for her series about the founding families of Billings who still live and work in the Magic City.

Katie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. She loves getting out and experiencing the great Montana outdoors and spending time with her family.
