Position:  Producer  

Job Description:
Produce KULR-8’s award winning Monday through Friday 6pm and 10pm newscasts. Responsibilities include newscast prioritization and organization, creating rundowns, live shot coordination, writing and editing scripts, oversight of newscast graphics, answering phones, and boothing news in both breaking news and regularly scheduled newscasts. You will work closely with the director to ensure broadcasts are journalistically and technically flawless. The producer must have the ability to edit video when required, manage and communicate with crews in breaking and scheduled news situations, troubleshoot under deadline pressure, and make changes as events dictate. Tangible contribution to online and mobile platforms is also a significant ingredient to the daily lineup of duties. Our producer is a major contributor to newsroom operations so proven leadership qualities are a must.     

Qualifications:
College degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field. 1-2 years Newsroom experience required. Basic computer skills including word processing, web and mobile applications. Working knowledge of ENPS a plus. Strong writing, grammar, and spelling skills required for both on air and online.
